The idea of social distancing during this virus outbreak leaves me feeling isolated and lonely. And yet, out of community care and love, I'm absolutely physically distancing, as I hope we all are. That said, we don't have to be alone! Thanks to technology, we can meet and chat and even meditate together.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I'll be online in my "Zoom Room" at 4:30 pm MST for 30 minutes of guided meditation. I think it's nice to meditate before listening to the evening news which offers good information but lots of anxiety.
I'd love to have you join me (no charge), and you can invite any of your friends to do so, too.
We'll get grounded and centered. We'll create a sacred circle of healing energy together, and you'll be invited to name any of your concerns to we can hold them in the center to let them be diffused. We may even experiment with some nature meditations. Aspen trees are my inspiration - the way they're always connected through their roots. We'll end with gratitude, and you'll be invited to name what brings you joy. There's never any pressure to share.
Here's how to use Zoom:
If you are an Apple user, download the Zoom app to your phone or iPad.
You don't have to create an account. Just download the app; the link is here.
For Android phones and tablets, here's the app.
Then from your phone or tablet, click on this link: https://zoom.us/j/2825582166
The app will open up.
You may need to enter this meeting ID: 282-558-2166
If you use Chrome as your browser, you don't even need the app. You can just click the Zoom link. https://zoom.us/j/2825582166
You can choose to have the video on or off. Once we get started, I'll mute everyone. Then when it's time to share, I'll unmute everyone. Please silence your phones and watches, and try to limit any background noise (you'd be surprised how loudly things come across the microphones when we're unmuted!)
This started as a two week experiment, and it's working. So through May 29, plan on it. (One exception - on May 6th, I have another online commitment.) I'll provide updates here, on Facebook and through email if anything changes. To follow me on Facebook, click here or search for Kelly Groves Dignan. If you or your friends want to get email updates and some extra goodies here and there from me, you can subscribe here.
I have no attachment to how many folks join. Just gather if it helps you and yours.
Also, I did a little writing about rest and restoration in a post called Fallowness. Here's a link to the blog.
If I can support you in any other ways, let me know. Much love, Kelly
