Ancestral Healing Practices - What to Expect

This practice and process is not linear. Spirit leads, and every person is different. That said, it is nice to know how things might go. For sure, every session begins with a guided meditation so we can ground to the Earth, open to Spirit and ask for protection so that all messages are for your best and highest self. Together we travel on a journey to sense into the lineages and find ancestral guides (detail below). At the end of each session, we center in the present moment for a short debrief. Kelly can record the session so you can refer to it later. 

Kelly facilitates this process using practices from her ancestral tradition which is Celtic. That said, the content is about you and will surface images and guidance specific to your own roots. 

Here is a typical progression of the four sessions:

Session 1: One hour

  1. A more detailed introduction to the process and an opportunity for your questions. If you are adopted and/or don’t have information about your family history, it's no problem.  We sense into all the material energetically. 

      2. Guided meditation to choose one ancestral line to work with and find an ancestral guide to help you in this work.

     3. In the meditation, we ask your ancestral guide to release burdens in the line.

     4. Somatic (body) practices to remove burdens from you. 

     5. Claim the gifts of that line, offer the gifts and healing to the generations that come after you,  and listen for a ritual to do to honor these gifts and wisdom. Also listen for other ways to nurture relationship with the ancestor(s) who are there to support you. 

Session 2: One hour
  • Guided meditation to choose the next line to work with.  Move through steps 2-5 described above.

Session 3: One hour
  • Guided meditation to choose the next line to work with.  Move through steps 2-5 described above.

Session 4: 90 Minutes
  • Guided meditation to choose the last line to work with.  Move through steps 2-5 described above.
  • Guided meditation to find ancestors of the place where you live, from your faith tradition and/or from your profession.
  • Introduce them to your familial ancestors.
  • Ritual to ask all the ancestral guides to work together.
  • Offer prayer and healing presence for the ways in which the collective culture may be affected by burdens similar to the ones in your lineage. Ask all the ancestors to help.
  • Listen into the ways, if any, you are called to offer healing to this collective and cultural trauma.
  • Consider how your new ancestral guides and helpers can companion you and help you find more fulfillment and vitality in the future.

When this beautiful work finishes, Kelly can continue to companion you spiritually.
